Federal St. in Youngstown is hosting its first Holiday Haunt event this weekend in partnership with Nightmare in Niles, Dead Ink Apparel and Rebel Rescue Ranch (the maze will blend Halloween scares with Christmas cheer and vendor hours run from 7 p.m. to midnight today and Saturday). - ➤ The Boardman Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Monday and board members will recognize athletic teams' wins while approving appointments + resignations, transfers, donations, new coach roles, stipends, and the sale of old buses. - ➤ Two students from Poland McKinley Elementary hosted their annual Thanksgiving parade video modeled on NBC’s style and Macy’s Parade and were featured on NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas on November 26. - ➤ Howland schools approved girls flag football as a club sport for the 2025-26 school year, with uniforms, equipment and clinics provided by the Cleveland Browns—high school players showed strong interest and coaches have already stepped forward to volunteer. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Hubbard High School students, led by art teacher Josh MacMillan, painted Christmas-themed messages on windows at the local grocery, restaurant, and city hall during Thanksgiving break—adding new 3-D cutouts to honor families like the Edenfields and a family supporting 4-year-old Palmer with epilepsy; Mayor Ben Kyle supported the project for the holiday parade route.
