- ➤ Girard held the second Christmas in the Park event on Saturday at David Tod Memorial Park as local officials moved it earlier to avoid the cold and snow of December. - ➤ Santa Claus will visit the Girard Free Library today at 6 p.m. by firetruck — the Grinch will join him so people can take photos and decorate cookies. The Youngstown Model Railroad Association will hold an open house on Saturday, Sunday, and on Dec. 13 and 14 in Austintown while the library hosts a holiday craft on Thursday, Walk with a Doc runs at Southern Park Mall from 10 to 11 a.m., volunteers are needed for Friday’s holiday parade from 3 to 8 p.m., and Blackstone Funeral Home will sponsor wreath placement at Girard City Cemetery. - ➤ Stambaugh Auditorium will host the 9th Annual Holiday Craft Show this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.—with 82 vendors across three floors offering holiday décor, baked goods, pet apparel, and handmade artwork. - ➤ Students in grades 4-7 took part in a STEAM program from September through November offered by the Trumbull County Educational Service Center—using career carts to learn skills in welding, robotics, and more.
