- ➤ BLOOMFIELD — A holiday train display is back at the 1893 historic town hall in Bloomfield Township for the Christmas season, featuring themed trains and children’s activities with plans for a future concert to draw families. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Texas Roadhouse in Boardman is hosting a three-day donation drive from Thursday, Dec. 11 to Saturday, Dec. 13 to collect food, clothing, toys, and hygiene items for Project Making Kids Count and Second Harvest Food Bank & every donated item earns a raffle ticket for a chance to win a swag basket that includes free steak for a year. - ➤ For upcoming holiday events, Wreaths Across America takes place at noon Saturday with wreath placement ceremonies at Niles City Cemetery and Girard City Cemetery, Braceville America 250 starts Sunday at Braceville Township Hall with festive music, and Hometown Holidays runs Saturday evening in downtown Warren with markets and family activities. - ➤ The Poland Board of Education hired Andrew Tommelleo as interim superintendent last night to complete Craig Hockenberry's term through July 31; he will earn $10,000 a month starting Jan. 1 while the board continues its search for a permanent replacement. The Vindicator
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Effective Jan. 1, 2026, the Ohio Turnpike will raise toll rates by 2.7% to help cover rising costs. Commuters should expect higher fees when traveling on the turnpike. WFMJ
