The Elephant in the Room: Power, Posture, and Principle in the Helping Sector

About this event

What if the greatest barriers to community progress aren’t a lack of resources or good intentions – but the conversations we’ve avoided having? On December 3, 2026, Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, through the RISE Community Collaborative, will host The Elephant in the Room: Power, Posture, and Principle in the Helping Sector – Why Good Intentions Are Not Enough. More than a conference, this is an immersive experience designed to challenge assumptions, foster courageous dialogue, and inspire collaborative action across philanthropy, business, government, healthcare, education, and the nonprofit sector.
