The City of Youngstown has unveiled its Downtown Events Calendar for September that lists cultural programs, family entertainment and community activities.

Highlights include First Friday Downtown—focused on Youngstown's history—and live music at the Doubletree tonight, with additional events like line dancing, science programs and a family Oktoberfest scheduled later in the month.

The 138th annual Columbiana Street Fair opens today at 5 p.m. at 1 South Main Street and will run through Saturday with rides, games and food.

Organized by Benjamin Firestone Post 290, the fair will feature a parade at 6:30 p.m. at the Firestone Park pool entrance — and it has long been known to attract up to 40,000 fans.
